Patriot Bermuda

Patriot Bermuda is a new variety that was developed at Oklahoma State University. It is the most cold hardy Bermuda grass available. While it is not as dense as TifSport, it has a much more aggressive growth habit so if you have a short growing season in the northern transition zone it can be an excellent choice for your athletic field. It does require a sharp reel mower at ¾ to 1 inch mowing height and due to its aggressive growth, requires slightly more aeration and de-thatching than other varieties. Patriot is an excellent variety for high traffic athletic fields with adequate maintenance budgets.
