TifGrand was developed by USDA-ARS in cooperation with the University of Georgia at the Coastal Plain Experiment Station in Tifton, GA. It was released to licensed growers in 2010.
Other qualities include: a natural deep green color; dense and fine bladed; can be mower at 0.25” to 2.0”; deep, extensive root system; excellent non-preference to tawny mole cricket; extensive independent NTEP testing; and nine years of trials for insect resistance shade tolerance and seven years of practical application evaluation.
